Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to appraise a coin?+
The AI photo valuation is free and instant. A professional expert appraisal starts from 29 € per piece at a fixed price, no surprises: you see the exact amount before submitting your request.
How is it different from the free AI valuation?+
The AI valuation is an automatic, rough estimate from a photo. The professional appraisal is carried out by a human numismatic expert, with precise identification of varieties and condition, and can include a signed written certificate.
Is it valid for insurance or estates?+
Yes: the written appraisal certificate includes a photograph, technical description and signed valuation, and it's the document usually requested by insurers and estate managers. It does not constitute a judicial expert report.
Do I have to send in the coins?+
In most cases no: the appraisal is done from good photographs. For certificates or high-value pieces, physical examination may be required; we'll let you know before charging anything, along with insured shipping instructions.
And what if I later want to sell?+
It's up to you. If you wish, after the appraisal you can sell your pieces on NumisMercado — with the valuation already done, the sale is much faster and more transparent.
Valuations reflect an expert opinion of the market value on the date of issue and are for guidance only; they do not constitute a judicial expert report or an offer to buy. The written certificate describes the examined piece and its valuation signed by the expert.
